What do we offer?
We are a men's shelter and can accommodate a census of 10-15
persons nightly. During the day, guests are given assignments including but
not limited to the following: volunteering at the mission, attending
treatment, securing social security cards, securing other identification,
following up on job opportunities, visiting the community college, searching
for housing and visiting the Employment Security Commission. Guests are
taught life skills and are encouraged to participate in Bible study during
the week and attend the church on Sunday.
How do you check in?
Men needing emergency overnight shelter may come directly to the Shelter
located at 1410 Bridges Street in Morehead City. Intake begins at 6pm for
new persons. Registered guests have until 7pm to check in each night. While
we do not hold beds for new intake persons you may call prior to arriving,
the day of intended arrival, to see if there is space available.
What
do I expect when I arrive?
You will meet with the Director, fill out an application and agree to follow
the guidelines and responsibilities that you will have while living in the
shelter.
