HOPE MISSION MINISTRIES
Serving others with many hands and one heart
The Partnership between Big Rock Tournament and Hope Mission
Hope Mission Christian Ministries (Hope Mission) 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in the heart of Morehead City, NC. Hope Mission has been providing food and shelter to the less fortunate citizens of Carteret County and the surrounding area for the past 21 years. We are funded by donations from community organizations, civic groups, churches, and individuals.
Hope Mission provides services through the following ministries: 1) Community Kitchen which operates six days a week, providing hot lunches to hungry individuals and families. Often those who are in need of a hot meal themselves will volunteer to help us serve; 2) Men’s Shelter for the Homeless (at the Mission building) provides temporary overnight shelter for up to 15 displaced men and is open 7 nights per week. Persons in the shelter are required to remain drug and alcohol free and take all necessary steps to return to independent living; 3) Emergency Financial Assistance provides payment of bills which threaten to leave persons without electricity, heating fuel, rent, and other essentials.
Donations from The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament are so important to Hope Mission, that we actually incorporated their logo and pictures into the banner at the top of our website. All funds contributed by The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament are designated to cover the expenses of the Men’s Shelter for the Homeless which remains the only homeless shelter for men in Carteret County. Many nights, especially during extreme weather conditions, the shelter reaches its fire-coded maximum of 15 persons.
Without generous contributions by charitable organizations like The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, we could not meet the needs of so many of our fellow citizens affected by these trying economic times. The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament funding is invaluable and so greatly appreciated!
The Partnership with Hope Recovery Homes
Hope Recovery Homes, Inc. exists solely for the purpose of helping those suffering from alcoholism and drug addictions to find a solution to their problem. Following the tradition of the Alcoholics Anonymous 12 Step Program we believe that God is the solution.
We are very proud of our Success rate at Hope Recovery Homes; It lets us know that each of the people we have offered assistance to has worked harder than ever before in their lives and that we are on the right path. And it lets you know that we are doing our job effectively. We are very proud of our success rates, which are much higher than those of similar programs.
We maintain a comprehensive program and require strict adherence to the rules. As part of the admission process, applicants are required to fill out our App-Contract and the Program-Overview in a written contract agreeing to follow Rules of the program. Both of which may be downloaded, printed, signed and faxed to 252-622-4839 along with a copy of your clinical diagnosis.
Currently Hope Recovery Homes includes 3 homes, 2 for men and 1 for women.
Applicants for admission to the program at our recovery homes typically have a referral from an inpatient treatment facility or detox center or jail. Upon admission, participants must pass a drug and alcohol test. State funding available for those who qualify.

Together… We’re building a Women’s Shelter!
Donations are the fuel that we run on. It’s time to clean out the closets, storage units, garage’s, and turn your stuff into a mission with purpose.
As you help provide a safe place for women to begin to live again, we look forward to sharing the good news with you. Nothing is quite as rewarding as working together in a community to help those who cannot help themselves. We sincerely thank you for your help.
